On May 26, within the frames of the “Yerevan Dialogue” international forum, a panel discussion titled “The EU’s Involvement in the Eastern Neighborhood” was held with the participation of Arman Yeghoyan, Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and high-ranking officials from various partner countries.
The discussion focused on the European Union’s strategic role in promoting stability, democratic governance, and economic development in the Eastern Partnership region. Arman Yeghoyan emphasized the importance of aligning national reforms with EU standards, highlighting that Armenia views its relationship with the EU as a cornerstone of its modernization and foreign policy agenda. Panelists also touched upon challenges such as geopolitical tensions, disinformation, and the need for enhanced regional connectivity.
The panel concluded with a shared understanding that deeper cooperation between the EU and its Eastern partners is essential for building resilient societies. Participants stressed the importance of people-to-people contacts, youth engagement, and institutional partnerships to ensure that integration is inclusive and sustainable. The discussion reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to standing by its neighbors in the face of both challenges and opportunities.
