Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico delivered opening remarks at the official segment of the Yerevan Dialogue international forum

On May 26, the official segment of the Yerevan Dialogue international forum commenced in Yerevan. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan delivered opening remarks, particularly emphasizing the significance of the event:

Yerevan Dialogue is an important platform for discussing questions of international and regional agenda and sharing thoughts, proposing ideas. I wish success to the Yerevan Dialogue forum, not only for 2025 but also for 2026, 2027, and the years to come.”

Speaking about regional developments, Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia’s strong commitment to peace and dialogue:

“Lasting and stable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not only possible, but also achievable. And we are determined, we are committed to the peace agenda. We are ready to continue consultations with Azerbaijan on how to reach the point of signing a peace agreement and other documents that will completely and categorically change the situation and the fate of the peoples of the region. We will, of course, be loyal to that agenda and will do everything that depends on us, of course, respecting the principles I have already mentioned. Ladies and gentlemen, my conviction is that despite all the arguments, all the provocations, etc., there will be no war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, there will be peace. And that is unequivocal for me.”

Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico also addressed the forum, praising Armenia’s example in navigating regional challenges through diplomacy:

“Armenia is a model, how to give the main word to diplomacy, because despite complex and often strained regional relations, Armenia shows the world that dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful negotiation remain viable and powerful tools. Our Armenian partners have proven that even in times of geopolitical tension, it is possible to look ahead with a constructive vision, choosing diplomacy over confrontation and building bridges where others see barriers. We witnessed not only serious and in-depth conversations at the Yerevan Dialogue 2025 Conference, but also a sincere atmosphere of friendship, empathy, and mutual understanding, which reaffirmed the closeness between our nations.”

The Yerevan Dialogue international forum commenced in Yerevan

On May  26, the Yerevan Dialogue international forum commenced in Yerevan.  The forum is dedicated to six thematic directions:

  • “Global Geopolitical Trends ”

  • “Peace & Security Dilemmas”

  • “Tendencies in EU & EU Neighborhood”

  • “Connectivity: Trade & Transportation ”

  •  “AI Politics ”

  • “Green Development ”

The inaugural edition of the Yerevan Dialogue, held last year, proved to be a valuable, inclusive and effective platform for addressing the key challenges of our time. In 2025, the forum will focus more deeply on global issues, including intensifying geopolitical tensions, rising economic uncertainties, biodiversity issues and AI’s transformative yet complex implications.

The Yerevan Dialogue 2025 will once again serve as a platform to unite a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, civil society, and the private sector to discuss and develop solutions to the global challenges we face today.

We are delighted to announce the 2nd edition of the Yerevan Dialogue, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia!

🗓️ 26-27 May 2025 | 📍Yerevan

This year the discussions will be held under the title “Navigating the Unknown”. The Dialogue will bring up the topics of new geopolitical tendencies, both challenges and prospects for peace and security, rising economic confrontations and uncertainties as well as benefits of regional cooperation, including through enhanced connectivity and trade. We will address the ways “to live in harmony with the nature”, including priorities of the upcoming COP30 and COP17, as well deep dive on AI’s transformative yet complex implications.

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan: “Today’s complex landscape is shaped by geopolitical and economic uncertainties which imply major changes, but also forge new opportunities. Open and meaningful dialogue is essential for crafting effective solutions. In this context, I’m looking forward to the discussions at the upcoming #YerevanDialogue.”

Information meeting on upcoming Yerevan Dialogue 2025 took place in MFA Armenia

Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia David Karapetyan held a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia, briefing the preparations for the second international conference, “Yerevan Dialogue”.

David Karapetyan informed those present that the 2nd edition of “Yerevan Dialogue” will take place from May 26 to 27. During the conference, discussions will cover a range of topics, including the peace and security dilemma, global geopolitical trends, tendencies in EU and the EU neighborhood, green development, trade and transport connectivity, as well as AI politics.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan participated in a panel discussion of the “Yerevan Dialogue”

On September 11, within the framework of the “Yerevan Dialogue” international forum Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan participated in the panel discussion “Discussing the new Phoenix: the Global South and the renewed World Order”.

In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister touched upon the dynamics of rapidly transforming global powers, emphasizing the increasingly important role of developing countries in the current world order.

In this context, presenting the “Crossroads of Peace” project developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mnatsakan Safaryan stressed that unblocking transport infrastructures is not only an important factor for establishing stable and long-term peace in the region, but also a great impetus for the development of international logistics programs linking North with South and East with West.
